Create a beautifully design carnival float which combines a structure with a series of mechanisms (wheels and axles). This project is perfect for Key Stage 1 children as it allows creativity, design and the understanding of basic mechanisms.
Description
Each material pack comes with the following components:
- MDF base
- Axles made from 4mm dowel
- MDF wheels
- Axle brackets
- Dowel uprights
- String
This is a perfect KS1 project as it covers structures and mechanisms (wheels and axles)!
This material pack includes the Hepp DT design portfolio that covers the design, make, evaluate and technical knowledge aspects of the project as well as step by step instructions and videos to teach it successfully.
To be able to cut the dowel to the correct length, you will need junior hacksaws, bench hooks and g-clamps. If you do not have these tools in school, please select the ‘components pre-cut’ option at checkout.
Each material pack comes with sandpaper and PVA wood adhesive as standard.
